Boards Fitted and Finished by One Team

Dry lining and plasterboarding installation in progress

Dry lining means fixing plasterboard to walls and ceilings, over stud partitions, masonry or old uneven surfaces, to create a clean, level background fast. It is the quickest way to transform a room that is back to brick, and it dries in days rather than the weeks wet plastering on solid walls can take.

The usual frustration with dry lining is needing one trade to board and another to skim. With APS it is one team from bare frame to finished surface, so nothing is anyone else's fault. Boards fitted, joints taped and filled, and a skim applied where you want a traditional plastered finish.

  • Plasterboarding for walls and ceilings, homes and small commercial jobs.
  • Joints taped and finished, or taken to a full painted-ready skim.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualified, fully insured, 12-month guarantee.
  • Free quotes with no deposit, from a team rated 10/10 on Checkatrade.

Got Questions?

Dry Lining Your Home: Your Questions

What is dry lining?
Dry lining is fixing plasterboard to walls or ceilings, over stud partitions or masonry, to create a clean, level surface. The joints are taped and finished, and a plaster skim can be applied on top where you want a traditional plastered look.
Is dry lining better than wet plastering?
It depends on the wall. Dry lining is quicker and suits new partitions, extensions and uneven masonry, while a wet skim is often the neatest answer over existing plaster. We look at the room and advise the route that suits it, before anything is agreed.
Do you do the plastering after the boards go up?
Yes, that is the point of using us. The same team boards, tapes, joints and skims, so there is no handover between trades and nobody blaming anyone else for the finish.
How much does dry lining cost?
It is priced on the area to board and the finish you want, so every job is quoted individually. Quotes are free with no obligation, and we never ask for a deposit.
Can you replace damaged plasterboard?
Yes. Boards damaged by leaks or accidents are cut back, replaced and blended into the surrounding wall or ceiling.
Is dry lining work guaranteed?
Yes. APS Plastering is fully insured and NVQ Level 2 qualified, and every dry lining job carries our 12-month guarantee.
